This weekend, we went to another town and stayed in the hotel for several days.
Now Pippin loves trips. He loves to sleep in my lap while we drive, look out the window when we stop, wait for us in the car when we get out, and most especially, he loves hotel rooms. I don’t know why, but he is always so happy when I take his leash off and he gets to check the hotel room out. I would not describe Pippin as a happy dog (by no stretch of the imagination!), but in a hotel room his tail wags almost nonstop. He trots around with joy and he loves leaping from bed to bed.
He is also well behaved. Quiet and non-demanding, the perfect little dog I’ve always dreamed of. Well, actually, he still raids the trash…
Anyway, I asked him while he was wagging his tail at me and rubbing his head on the sheets, “Are you happy?” He looked at me quickly. “You like stayin’ in hotels?” His tail whipped harder and he came and rubbed his head on my shirt, then tried to kiss my mouth. I guess that answers it.
